Berry Basil Lemonade Smoothie

This delicious recipe is from the Natural Comfort Kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup cold water

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1 or 2 pitted Medjool dates, quartered

  • 1/2 Cup frozen mixed berries (or one type)

  • 1/2 Cup frozen pitted cherries (or additional berries)

  • 3 to 6 medium basil leaves

Directions:

  1. Combine water, lemon juice, and date(s) in a blender and run until opaque with only small bits of the dates visible.

  2. With the blender off, add berries, cherries, and basil, and blend at increasing speed until thick and smooth.

  3. Serve immediately and to keep the smoothie extra cold, serve over a couple ice cubes.
